Strawberry Council
What is your field of expertise?
The members of the Strawberry Council each contributes strengths from our diverse background that has allowed us to work consistently and effectively as a team, both as Supernode owners and CR Council members. As a result, we achieved a 100% voting record during our first two terms on the CR Council.
Coming from different industries and job titles, we work together to bring our unique skills and knowledge of blockchain industry to the table. We are an organization that emphasizes garnering the strengths of each of our members to create a healthy and collaborative forum for contributing to the ongoing growth of the Elastos ecosystem. As we are “derived from the community for the community”, we bring community concerns to the table and attempt to prioritize community sentiment when casting our votes.
What is your goal with Elastos by the end of the council’s next term?
The Strawberry Council has a goal of assisting in the widespread adoption and development on Elastos blockchain while doing our best to maintain the best interest of our community members.
What is the main issue with ELA, looking at its market performance (dropping out of top 100, currently sitting 500+ in terms of MC)?
The main issue with Elastos and the valuation of ELA in our opinion is the present difficulty onboarding new users and the general lack of development outside of the core team. Although we are encouraged by the early success of various ecosystem projects including Glide Finance, CREDA, Profile, Elacity, and FilDA, novel approaches that incentivize the onboarding of new users is imperative while also identifying outside investment sources to assist with kickstarting promising Elastos ecosystem projects.
Additionally, the lack of a quality market maker (MM) has likely hindered the potential for ELA valuation growth in the most recent bull run, and we are happy to see this problem being addressed through the recent hiring of Kairon Labs.
What should be Elastos’ killer dApp in your opinion?
The Strawberry Council views a killer dapp as one that will showcase the data ownership abilities and decentralized infrastructure of the Elastos blockchain. We would love to see a decentralized social media dapp that will showcase freedom of speech and users owning their data. We also believe that the features of that dApp should be user friendly and easily accessible by the general public.
In essence, a killer dApp would benefit from what Elastos technology can provide without requiring users to have any knowledge that the dApp they are using is blockchain based.
How are you going to contribute to the CR Council if you get elected?
The Strawberry Council will continue to be consistent and committed to maintain our 100% strong voting record. The Strawberry Council will participate in meetings while also going above and beyond with engagements doing everything we can to ensure the best outcome for the future of Elastos. “Derived from the community for the community,” the Strawberry Council will continue to support the best interest of the Elastos community.
If you are running for your first time, please introduce yourself to the community. Tell us a little about your background, prior experience, and personal vision for Elastos and Cyber Republic. Or, if you are a former council member, please share your contribution to the CRC that you have made.
Although the Strawberry Council has run and been elected in two previous elections. In review, we are a DAO branch of the Strawberry Supernodes. The Wild Strawberries consist of three Elastos supernodes, governed by 11 individuals. We are geographically decentralized just as we strive to decentralize the Supernodes we govern. We have been securing the Elastos network for 3 years while maintaining all 3 supernodes in an active position consecutively.
The Strawberry Council has maintained a perfect 100% voting record over the last two council terms and strive to continue doing everything we can to achieve greatness.
Would you say the design of suggestions and proposals, and the CRC in general, has been effective? What could be improved?
Communication through biweekly meetings greatly improved the understanding of each council member’s different perspectives. We were actually able to visualize some members changing their opinions on certain proposals after being able to fully understand the potential benefits through a hearty discussion.
One persistent drawback is that our CR Council treasury includes mostly ELA for funding projects and so we remain committed to prioritize suggestions/proposals that look at novel funding strategies which may help further reduce downward sell pressure on ELA.
Who else would you endorse for being on the Council with you?
As members of the CR Council for the last two years, we were able to witness first hand, numerous valuable contributions from various council members that are largely unknown to the Elastos community at large.
However, without the contributions of Elation Studios and Sash (Elacity), we feel many of the accomplishments including formation of the DAO, development of Elacity, and contracting with an MM may never have been achieved. We would therefore would fully endorse Sash/Elacity and Elation Studios.
